Las Vegas Spring Showcase Recap......

Jam On It hosted a well ran event of roughly 40 teams in Las Vegas. We got to see the progress of some known talent, but saw some under the radar kids as well.

Congratulations to the following teams on their respective Championships:

KC Gold Elite 2024 - 8th Grade

Utah Premier 15u National - 9th Grade

XBA Red - 10th Grade

NWBA Gauntlet Platinum - 11th Grade

Saroiya Ajomale (5’9”-2024, Vegas Suns) – This kid displayed a lot. She has a long frame, has athleticism, a floater, and sheer effort. Defensively she has amazing timing. She hosted a block party all weekend and any and everyone was invited. Her impeccable timing combined with her athleticism is high level. Her upside is ridiculous. I’m excited to follow the devve of this kid.

Nia Anderson (5’7” – 2023, XBA Red) – I’ve seen Nia numerous times. This kid can score the ball with nifty drives & finishes, major range beyond the arc, but where she has improved is her on ball defense and playmaking for others offensively. She has a well rounded game!

Jaila Childress (5’10” – 2024, Vegas Suns) – One of the most complete players at the event. A tremendous motor, the athleticism is there, showed the midrange, executed a variety of finishes inside the paint, and showed consistency with the deep ball! She is trending up.

Kendall Coley – (6’2”-2021, UVA 2021 Navy Coley) – There’s a reason Stanford was in the building checking out this kid. She has the size, athleticism, skill and her IQ is off the charts. She sees the floor so well. Seems to always be in the right position and makes the necessary play. I think she could be more assertive at times, but nevertheless the kid has all the tools.

Aaliyah Davis (5’7” – 2021, Team Bonafide) – A strong guard who plays with good leverage and a lot of swag. She has good shot mechanics, very unselfish, but overall she’s a good scoring combo guard. Consistency will be the key for her.

Cloey Dmytruk (5’10” – 2022, UVA War 2022 Gauntlet) – Cloey is a utility player that players bigger than her size. She’s strong, defends the post well, rebounds in and out of her area, and can knock down the deep ball.

Amari Dydell (5’6” – 2024, KC Gold Elite 2024) – This kid is smooth, fearless, a great handle, solid perimeter shot, a tenacious defender with a lot of composure. She will be a high level prospect.

Taimane Faleafine-Auwae (6’1” – 2023, Lights Out Basketball) – I enjoyed watching this kid. She’s long & strong. She functions mostly out of the High Post area, nice touch from 18 feet and in, rebounds very well, and has excellent mobility. I love her upside!

Reagan Fox (5’9”- 2022, OK Swarm Bluestar 15u) - This kid is always around the ball. Seems to win in all the hustle areas. She has a nice combination of skill and tenacity. She showed a nice pull-up in transition and made some tough finishes on aggressive drives.

Timea Gardiner (6’3”,-2022, NWBA Gauntlet Platinum) - Timea is a known player. She has blossomed into the player we thought she'd be when we first saw her up close 3 years ago. The reason we are mentioning her is the growth we have seen defensively. Standing at close to 6'4", we watched teams attempt to attack her off ball screens and she leveled off smaller guards with ease. Her agility, anticipation, effort and ability to defend multiple positions at her size makes her stock go that much higher!

Amore Mason (5’11” – 2023, Wil2Win Black 16u) - This kid plays at a frenetic pace! Her energy, athleticism and motor is there. She is a slasher who can finish in several creative ways. If she adds the deep ball, then her total game will explode! Amore has a whole lot of upside! Definitely one to watch!

Margaret Mendelson (6’4” – 2023, Utah Premier u15 National) - 6'4", mobile, good hands, and range out to the 3 point line. Her size and outside shot is something that schools will covet down the line.

Kamesha Moore (5’4” – 2020, Wil2Win Black Elite 17u) – Kamesha is all heart, speed and motor. Her effort, toughness, and competitiveness caught my eye. At the point of attack she's definitely someone with value on both ends of the floor.

Senia Moore (5’5”-2020, Jam On It Black) -It was really good to see this player turn the corner. She is quick, athletic, a very good defender, great motor, and now showing her offensive game more & more. She displayed a quick first step, timely positive reads off the pick & roll, good vision, nice athletic finishes and was consistent. If she continues this type of play in July, then she will reap ther benefits.

Arizana Peaua (5’11” – 2022, Jam On It Black) - A hardworking kid with a nice midrange. She grabbed some tough rebounds and played hard on both ends. Her handle needs to be tighter, but she gets where she needs to go.

Aurora Roberts (5’10” – 2020, UVA 2020 Navy Coley) - A pure athlete! So quick off her feet! She is quick off the dribble, then just elevates over defenders for finishes on her drives.

Faith Shelton (6’2” – 2022, Stockton Mustangs Showcase)- Definitely one of the most skilled kids at the event. She can score off a pull-up or from downtown! She showed both consistently! From a skillset perspective there's not much she can't do. The size & skill is there. At times she disappears and doesn't assert herself like I believe she can.

Avery Simmons (5’10” – 2024 KC Gold Elite 2024) - A absolute monster! Size, strength and a tremendous work ethic! This kid gives maximum effort, is physical, and plays with a determination you don't normally see in 7th graders! She stays on the attack and competes on each end!

Camryn Smith (5’7” – 2024 KC Gold Elite 2024) - A lead guard with speed, quickness, athleticism and consistency! She is a ballhawk defensively! Her lateral movement, quick hands and willingness to defend with passion is high level! She pushes in transition, advances the ball early to streaking teammates, but also broke defenders down off the dribble to make plays for herself and her teammates.

Elina Tausinga (5’10” – 2020, NWBA  Gauntlet Platinum) -A rugged, physical, hard playing force! She plays both ends with the same level of energy and effort! Most of her success came on tough drives and pull-ups! Her strength, build & toughness are her best attributes!

Kaiulani Tuuga (5’9”-2023, Top Gun 15u) - This kid is a load. She rebounds and pushes immediately. Her outside shot is inconsistent, but when she's attacking downhill she is tough to deal with! She finished over, around and through defenders all weekend.

Francesca Vascellaro (6’0”-2021, UVA 2021 Navy Coley) – If you need a shooter with size, then Francesca is the player for you! She knows how to get open, has a quick release and is consistent. She was solid defensively and rebounded her area as well.

Desiree Ware (5’7” – 2022, UVA Ware 2022 Gauntlet) - Desiree just plays with a good pace! A nice tablesetter, good handle, nice floater and made good decisions.

Ariana Webb (5’9”-2022, XBA Red) - Arguably the hardest worker of the weekend! A hardnosed defender, great athleticism, and a tremendous competitor! She stayed on the attack offensively with a array of finishes in traffic. She embraced contact, fought for rebounds and made life all bad for guards and wings all weekend. She is a explosive athlete! Continued development of a tighter handle and reliable outside shot will take her a long way!

Amari Whiting (5’8” – 2023 – NWBA Gauntlet 16u All-Stars) - A fun, poised, high IQ pg with a deadly outside shot!
